Job summary

NEMS Assisted Living LLC in San Francisco, CA is seeking a caregiver to assist residents with activities of daily living, promote independence, and maintain a safe, clean living environment. You will observe residents and report changes to supervisors in a compassionate, professional manner.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong communication skills, ability to follow care plans, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.
• Previous experience in a health care setting or work with the elderly population preferred.
• Must maintain current First Aid certification
• Must maintain current CPR or BLS certification
• Ability to receive and maintain a California Background Clearance through the Department of Social Services.
• Desire to work with the elderly.
• Good physical and mental health.
• Maintain a well-groomed professional appearance.
• Displays good judgment and common sense.
• Ability to work alone, as well as part of a team.
• Display patience, understanding and compassion.
• Dependable, thorough and accountable.
• Physical ability to spend extended periods of time on their feet.
• Effective use of interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Displays good judgment and problem solving.
• Ability to understand and follow written and/or verbal directions.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Assist with morning meals for residents as directed.
• Observe residents for changes in condition and report promptly to supervisors.
• Maintain confidentiality and promote dignity and privacy.
• Follow care plans and physician orders while delivering direct care.
• Complete required documentation of care and services delivered during shift.
