Job summary

Self-Help For The Elderly is seeking Regular On-Call Caregivers in San Francisco, CA to provide non-medical, in-home assistance to eligible older adults and adults with disabilities. You will help with ADLs, light housekeeping, meals, and companionship, following individualized care plans.

Strong communication and reliability are essential to ensure safety and comfort. The role requires ability to lift up to 40 lbs, pass TB screening, and valid CA driver license if driving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 6 months of caregiving experience.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Must pass health screening for TB clearance.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Valid CA driver license and reliable transportation if driving.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
• Provides light housekeeping and tidying living areas.
• Prepares and serves meals according to clients’ dietary needs.
• Provides companionship and emotional support to reduce social isolation.
• Accompanies clients to appointments, errands, or recreational activities as needed.
• Monitors and reports changes in clients’ health or living conditions to the Supervisor.
• Follows care plans and schedules as directed by the team.
• Maintains accurate records of hours worked and tasks completed.
