Job summary

Wellstar Health System, Inc. in Georgia is seeking a Care Partner to support professional staff and deliver compassionate care under the supervision of registered nurses. This unlicensed role assists with vital signs, basic patient care, and coordination of care to meet patient needs.

Required education includes a high school diploma or GED, and completion of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program (or equivalent experience). BLS certification is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Direct Patient Care program, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vital signs, AM/PM care, I&O, tube feedings, dressing changes, ostomy care, and urinary catheter care.
• Perform phlebotomy and capillary blood glucose monitoring; collect specimens as directed.
• Under RN supervision, assist with tracheostomy care and IV line discontinuation; assist ventilated patients as needed.
• Label and deliver specimens to laboratories; coordinate unit activities and transport to pharmacies, pathology, and x-ray.
