Job summary

Kahak Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with daily living activities in a compassionate, dignity-driven setting. You will assist with personal care, mobility, meals, and daily routines while following approved care plans and HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass background check, driving record check, and drug screening.
Ability to lift, transfer, or assist individuals up to 50 lbs (with or without accommodations).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting as needed.
Support mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation.
Assist with meals, feeding, and following dietary guidelines.
Assist with housekeeping tasks and maintaining living spaces.
Complete daily progress notes, shift summaries, and required documentation accurately and on time.
Report incidents or unusual events to supervisors promptly and communicate with families and providers.
Implement behavior support plans and use positive reinforcement where appropriate.
Provide supervision to prevent unsafe actions and ensure safety during challenging behaviors.
