Job summary

Kahak Health Care Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. You will support daily living skills, promote independence, and participate in community activities while ensuring health and safety.

Required is at least 1 year in medical or related field, a high school diploma or equivalency, and18+ years old. A valid driver’s license, reliable car, and CPR/First Aid are essential.

Duties of Direct Support Professional (DSP):

The DSP provides direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and/or behavioral health needs. The DSP assists individuals in achieving independence, improving daily living skills, participating in community activities, and maintaining health and safety in their home and community. This position requires compassion, professionalism, and a strong commitment to person-centered support.

Requirements

A minimum of one year experience in the medical or a related field (social work, psychology, nursing assistance, etc.) and a high school diploma or equivalency. Must be 18 years of age. Additionally, the following are required:

• A current work authorization (US Passport, US Work Authorization card, Permanent Resident Card) or a Birth Certificate

• Current auto insurance
• Current CPR & First Aid
• Current physical exam
