Job summary

Kahak Health Care Services seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct care and support to individuals with IDD and behavioral health needs in home and community settings. You will help clients achieve independence, improve daily living skills, and participate in community activities, while maintaining health and safety.

Requirements include at least 1 year in a medical or related field, a high school diploma or equivalent, being 18+, a valid driver’s license and reliable car,

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in the medical or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have: reliable car, valid driver’s license, work authorization (US Passport, US Work Authorization card, Permanent Resident Card) or a Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, current auto insurance, CPR & First Aid, current physical exam, tuberculosis test with negative result.
• Background checks (FBI) and a Central Registry (CRS) check will be required.

Duties of Direct Support Professional (DSP):

The DSP provides direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and/or behavioral health needs. The DSP assists individuals in achieving independence, improving daily living skills, participating in community activities, and maintaining health and safety in their home and community. This position requires compassion, professionalism, and a strong commitment to person-centered support.

Requirements

A minimum of one year experience in the medical or a related field (social work, psychology, nursing assistance, etc.) and a high school diploma or equivalency. Must be 18 years of age. Additionally, the following are required:
