Job summary

Arc of Onondaga is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist to join the Clinic Department. You will develop and monitor Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) for individuals receiving services, working with an interdisciplinary team to ensure person-centered supports and compliance with regulations.

You should have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field and at least one year of experience with individuals with IDD, plus training in Functional Behavior Assessment or willingness

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related Human Services field is required.
• At least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
• Training in Functional Behavior Assessment techniques or willingness to complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) for individuals receiving services.
• Support gathering information and conducting assessments to understand behavioral needs.
• Apply Functional Behavior Assessment techniques to identify underlying factors of behaviors.
• Monitor BSP implementation across service settings.
• Participate as a member of interdisciplinary and program planning teams.
• Ensure services are appropriate, necessary, and aligned with individual needs and goals.
• Promote patient-centered approaches and adherence to regulations.
• Maintain documentation to support compliance with agency and regulatory requirements.
