Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers seeks a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to provide essential peer and operational support during recovery. You will supervise patients, monitor safety, and assist with admissions/discharges while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent or higher.
• Behavioral health certification or related education preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and/or mental health settings preferred.
• Experience in detoxification and/or residential levels of care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient supervision and conduct scheduled safety checks to ensure patient and facility safety.
• Monitor patient behavior and environmental conditions, document observations, and promptly report concerns, incidents, or changes to clinical or medical staff.
• Respond to crisis situations using approved de-escalation techniques and follow emergency protocols.
• Ensure adherence to facility rules and behavioral expectations while maintaining a respectful and therapeutic approach.
• Measure and document vital signs and perform CLIA-waived testing (urine drug screening, pregnancy testing) as trained.
• Observe and report changes that may impact patient safety or treatment progress.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, patient movement, group coordination, and activities.
• Support patient engagement in treatment programming and daily routines within the milieu.
