Job summary

Acadia Healthcare in Arkansas is seeking a compassionate patient care assistant to support patients under clinical or nursing supervision. You will help ensure patient safety, maintain a positive environment and document observations in the medical record.

Requires a high school diploma and at least six months experience with the facility’s population. CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification are required (training provided).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate urgency related to patient safety and provide excellent customer services.
• Ensure well-being of patients and a positive environment.
• Document timely and accurate clinical information in patient records.
• Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, families and staff.
• Interact with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
• May assist with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, hydration).
• May obtain vital signs and document in patient records.
• Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups on various topics.
• Engage patients in activities to achieve treatment goals.
• Complete and maintain required documentation; assist with follow-up and paperwork on incidents.
• Provide transportation for patients or coordinate transportation as needed.
