Job summary

Acadia Healthcare is seeking a dedicated personal care provider to deliver compassionate patient care under clinical or nursing supervision. You will help ensure patient safety, document clinical information, and assist with activities of daily living while maintaining a supportive environment.

Critical duties include monitoring patients, communicating observations to nursing staff, and facilitating group activities to support treatment goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate urgency related to patient safety and provide excellent customer services.
• Ensure well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive environment.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision at 15 minute intervals as needed.
• Document timely, accurate clinical information in patient records.
• Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, family and staff.
• Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors and communicate observations to nursing staff.
• May assist with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, hydration, linens).
• May obtain vital signs, height and weight, and document in patient records.
• Facilitate educational-rehabilitative groups on social skills, coping skills, anger management and independent living.
• Engage patients in activities to achieve treatment goals.
• Complete and maintain required documentation; assist with follow-up and paperwork on incidents.
• May provide transportation for patients or coordinate transport with staff.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic attitude and resolve complaints with patient safety as a priority.
