Job summary

The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a part-time Animal Photographer to support weekend coverage, recording portraits of adoptable pets and editorial images for the rescue team. You will transport animals to the studio, shoot and edit images, and upload them into our shelter software.

Three campus collaboration will be part of your role, requiring attention to pet flow, record accuracy, and volunteer guidance in a fast-paced shelter environment. Weekend shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of professional or significant amateur photography experience.
• Ability to develop creative concepts and capture pets’ personality.
• Strong photo editing skills; proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Comfortable with animals and shelter operations software.
• Able to work weekends and travel between campuses.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong multitasking and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Able to direct volunteers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Transport pets from kennels to studio and photograph adoptable animals.
• Edit portraits and upload them into shelter software.
• Collaborate with teammates across three campuses to manage pet flow.
• Guide volunteers assisting in the studio.
• Shoot editorial style images for Animal Rescue Team and events at partner locations.
