Job summary

Bristol Ambulance, part of EMED Group, is seeking Ambulance Care Assistants to join our Bristol team. We offer full and part-time roles with 12-hour shifts, days and nights, starting between 06:00 and 19:00. You will support patients throughout their medical journeys, showing empathy and professionalism in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving license (held for minimum 12 months if over 21, or 24 months if under 21).
• Experience in Care (HCA, Support worker, etc) - advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.
• Physical fitness to assist patients with mobility needs.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the transportation of ‘end of life’ patients, ensuring a high level of empathy is present at all times.
• Building rapport by effectively communicating with patients and their relatives/friends.
• Responsible for lifting, securing and helping patients in and out of the Ambulance.
• Assist with the handing over of patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospital’s or to family/friends at their homes.
• Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs or similar both in and out of hospital and medical settings.
• Ensuring that the ambulance is kept safe, clean and tidy.
