Job summary

Visiting Angels Amarillo is seeking a compassionate Companion Caregiver to provide exceptional support to clients in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes around the Panhandle area, including Amarillo and surrounds.

As a Visiting Angel, you will assist with activities of daily living, monitor health, prepare meals, and promote safety and emotional well-being. Full-time and part-time shifts available; training and team support provided.

Qualifications

• Home health or hospice care experience.
• Experience with disabilities or developmental disorders.
• First aid and CPR knowledge.
• Familiarity with vital sign assessment.
• Memory care or Alzheimer's care experience.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and observing changes in health or behavior.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely.
• Document care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding any concerns or changes in client status.

Visiting Angels Amarillo is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Companion Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to our clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Our office in Amarillo provides caregivers for the Panhandle area including Amarillo, Claude, Hereford, Dumas, Borger, Fritch, Canyon, Pampa , and many others.

• Familiarity with patient monitoring and vital sign assessment.
• Experience in memory care or Alzheimer's care settings.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for client support.
