Job summary

Visiting Angels Amarillo is seeking a compassionate Companion Caregiver to assist clients in home and facility settings across the Panhandle, including Borger and Amarillo. You will help with ADLs, monitor vital signs, prepare meals, and keep a clean, safe environment while promoting dignity and independence.

Experience in home care or hospice, memory care, HIPAA privacy, and the ability to assist with transfers is valued.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have experience in caregiving or related fields (home health, hospice, memory care).
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques is preferred.
• Understanding of HIPAA privacy regulations is important.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Monitor vital signs and observe changes in health or behavior.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely.
• Document care provided and communicate with healthcare professionals regarding concerns or changes.

Companion Caregiver

Visiting Angels Amarillo is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Companion Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to our clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment. Our office in Amarillo provides caregivers for the Panhandle area including Borger, Amarillo, Claude, Hereford, Dumas, Fritch, Canyon, Pampa, and many others.

• Familiarity with patient monitoring and vital sign assessment.
• Experience in memory care or Alzheimer's care settings.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for client support.
