Job summary

Visiting Angels Amarillo is seeking a compassionate Companion Caregiver to support clients in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes across the Panhandle. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor health, prepare meals, and promote safety and dignity.

This role emphasizes teamwork, respect for client privacy, and flexible scheduling with full-time, part-time, and PRN shifts. Prior caregiving experience is preferred; CPR/First Aid and HIPAA awareness are assets.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving or related fields.
• Knowledge of CPR and First Aid.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
• Ability to monitor health status and vital signs.
• Experience in memory care or Alzheimer's care settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and observing changes in health or behavior.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely.
• Document care provided and communicate with healthcare professionals regarding concerns or changes in client status.

Visiting Angels Amarillo is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Companion Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to our clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Our office in Amarillo provides caregivers for the Panhandle area including Amarillo, Claude, Hereford, Dumas, Borger, Fritch, Canyon, Pampa, and many others.

• Familiarity with patient monitoring and vital sign assessment.
• Experience in memory care or Alzheimer's care settings.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for client support.
