Job summary

United Methodist Communities is seeking a compassionate Companion for the HomeWorks division in Northern New Jersey. This per diem role offers a wage of $16–$20 per hour, depending on experience, and involves assisting clients with daily activities, transportation, and social engagement.

You will work under the HomeWorks division, helping escort clients, perform light housekeeping, and support faith-based gatherings while following care plans and reporting any changes to the nursing team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (required).
• Age 18 years of age or older (required).
• Ability to work independently and provide compassionate care.
• Reliable transportation (required).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Escort clients to appointments, shopping trips, errand-running, social outings, and faith-based gatherings
• Provide clean and supportive environment through light housekeeping
• Engage in activities to foster social interaction and companionship
• Plan, prepare, and share meals to encourage social connection
• Follow care plans developed by our nursing team and report any changes or safety concerns
