Job summary

United Methodist Communities, HomeWorks division, is seeking a Companion per diem role in Northern New Jersey. Start anew career with a mission-driven home care team where your work matters and schedules are flexible.

As a Companion, you will escort clients, assist with light housekeeping, engage in social activities, and help with meals while following care plans. Requires high school diploma or GED, 18+, reliable transportation, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Age 18 years or older is required.
• Ability to work independently and provide compassionate care.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Escort clients to appointments, shopping trips, errand-running, social outings, and faith-based gatherings
• Provide clean and supportive environment through light housekeeping
• Engage in activities to foster social interaction and companionship
• Plan, prepare, and share meals to encourage social connection
• Follow care plans developed by our nursing team and report any changes or safety concerns
