Job summary

United Methodist Communities is seeking a Companion for its HomeWorks division in Western New Jersey. The per diem position offers pay of $16-$20 per hour, based on experience, with a focus on companionship and support for clients in their homes.

Responsibilities include escorting clients to appointments, light housekeeping, activities to foster social interaction, meal sharing, and following established care plans with our nursing team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (required).
• Age 18 years or older (required).
• Ability to work independently and provide compassionate care.
• Reliable transportation (required).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Escort clients to appointments, shopping trips, errand-running, social outings, and faith-based gatherings.
• Provide clean and supportive environment through light housekeeping.
• Engage in activities to foster social interaction and companionship.
• Plan, prepare, and share meals to encourage social connection.
• Follow care plans developed by our nursing team and report any changes or safety concerns.
