Job summary

United Methodist Communities HomeWorks, Northern New Jersey, is seeking a compassionate Companion to escort clients to appointments, assist with social activities, and support daily living. This per diem position offers flexible days, evenings, and nights with competitive pay of $16-$20 per hour based on experience.

You will provide light housekeeping, plan meals to foster connection, and follow nursing care plans, reporting changes or safety concerns as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (required).
• Age 18 years or older (required).
• Ability to work independently and provide compassionate care.
• Reliable transportation (required).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Escort clients to appointments, shopping trips, social outings and faith-based gatherings.
• Provide a clean and supportive environment through light housekeeping.
• Engage in activities to foster social interaction and companionship.
• Plan, prepare and share meals to encourage social connection.
• Follow care plans developed by our nursing team and report changes or safety concerns.
