Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician for compactor repairs and installations in Michigan. The role requires CDL within six months, a high school diploma or GED, and prior experience with compactors and related equipment.

The candidate will coordinate rebuilding/repairs, monitor costs, assist the branch with issues, and perform minor welding. Strong safety awareness and ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma preferred.
• Prior experience repairing compactors and related equipment.
• CDL license required within six months of employment.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.

Responsibilities

• Comply with company rules and regulations regarding compactor/equipment safety.
• Coordinate all compactor rebuilds, repairs and track all costs for parts or labor.
• Receive major account requests for compactor repairs and installations and coordinate/perform as necessary.
• Assist the branch with any compactor repair or installation problems.
• Perform minor welding when needed.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance to maintain image, equipment and service; manage pressure settings and cycle times.
• Stock inventory of standard parts as designated.
• Maintain tools and keep up with latest technology via manuals and training seminars.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
