Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks a maintenance technician to service compactors and related equipment at our Michigan facility. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and installations to keep operations efficient and safe for customers.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, technical training, experience with compactors, and the ability to lift heavy loads. A CDL is required within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical diploma preferred.
• Experience repairing compactors or related equipment.
• CDL license required within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules and regulations for equipment.
• Coordinate compactor rebuilds, repairs and track costs.
• Receive major account repair requests and coordinate/perform as needed.
• Assist branch with compactor repair or installation problems.
• Perform minor welding when needed.
• Coordinate PM program to ensure image, equipment and customer service is upheld; including pressure setting and cycle times to minimize loads from customers.
• Stock inventory of standard parts, according to designated stocking level.
• Conform to applicable laws, regulations and company policies.
• Maintain tools and stay current with technology through manuals and training.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
