Job summary

Grand Canyon University seeks a Commuter Life Assistant to support the mission through the Student Engagement department. The role focuses on growing Commuter Life, overseeing the Commuter Lounge, and ensuring a welcoming environment for commuter students.

You will manage check-ins, lounge maintenance, locker registrations, and coordinate pop-up events while collaborating with Public Safety and other campus teams.

• Greet and assist all people entering the Commuter Lounge.
• Demonstrated excellent customer service.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Greet commuter students at front desk and direct them as needed.
• Check-in students as they enter the Commuter Lounge.
• Oversee lounge operations, ensuring cleanliness and restocking.
• Restock lounge items and maintain cleanliness of fridges and surfaces.
• Manage commuter lockers and assist with year-long registrations.
• Collaborate with Public Safety to ensure proper locker registrations.
• Communicate with customers and external parties to represent GCU.
• Host commuter pop-up events in the lounge as needed.
• Safely operate an authorized GCU golf cart when required.
