Job summary

Apex Park and Recreation District in Colorado is seeking a tennis coach for a 30-hour-per-week benefited role. Provide high-quality instruction for a wide range of players, lead group clinics, camps, and community programs, and design lesson plans emphasizing technical development and tactical awareness.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years on-court coaching, the ability to coach both recreational and competitive players, and strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of on-court coaching experience.
• Ability to coach both recreational and competitive players.
• Strong technical understanding of stroke mechanics and player development.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction for a wide range of players, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced juniors and adults.
• Lead group clinics, private lessons, camps, and community-based programming.
• Design and implement lesson plans emphasizing technical development and tactical awareness.
• Coach and develop higher-level juniors and adults preparing for competitive play (high school, USTA, tournaments).
• Foster a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment that promotes retention and growth.
• Evaluate player skill levels and provide clear progression pathways.
• Assist Head Pro with staff training and Junior pro development.
• Build strong relationships with players, families, and the community.
