Job summary

Vistability in Concord, CA is seeking a Community Support Specialist to empower adults with disabilities through community-based activities, skill-building, and social connections. This full-time role supports independence and meaningful participation in daily life, with hours Monday–Friday from 8:00am to 3:30pm.

You’ll partner with participants, families, and partners, develop individual program plans, and help individuals pursue varied activities—from bowling to volunteering—while documenting

Qualifications

  • Valid California driver's license and good driving record.
  • Minimum two years of direct care experience with people with disabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (preferred).

  • Be a champion for individual growth: Partner with adults with disabilities to achieve their unique goals, tailoring community-based activities to their interests and aspirations.
  • Craft personalized pathways: Develop, review, and evaluate individual program plans, tracking progress and celebrating milestones along the journey.
  • Connect and collaborate: Build strong relationships with participants, families, and community partners, fostering a supportive network for success.
  • Unleash the power of community: Explore diverse opportunities together, from bowling and parks to volunteer work and educational classes.
  • Unlock social potential: Support individuals in developing valuable social skills, navigating community interactions, and building meaningful connections.

Compensation: Wage: $22.75 per hour

Employer-paid benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life insurance, and LTD insurance valued at approximately $424.84 per pay period (about $5.23 per hour)

Paid time off:

  • 11 paid holidays + 1 birthday holiday
  • 12 sick days per year
  • 10–25 vacation days per year (based on tenure)
  • 30 hours of bereavement leave
  • Up to 2 weeks of paid jury duty

Retirement: 2% employer 403(b) match after one year of service
Employer pays 100% of retiree dental and Medicare supplement premiums for eligible employees

Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate for approved business travel. Required business use of a personal cell phone is reimbursed through a semi monthly stipend.
