Cumberland County Guidance Center in Millville, New Jersey, is seeking a Full-Time Community Support Services Assistant Director to join our leadership team. The role supports CSS program operations, supervises case management staff, and provides clinical guidance to ensure high-quality, person-centered services.

Ideal candidates hold an LCSW or LSW, possess a master's in a relevant field, and have supervisory experience in behavioral health, with a strong commitment to recovery-oriented care

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related Human Services field.
• Active New Jersey License: LCSW or LSW.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory or leadership experience.
• Minimum 2 years in behavioral health, case management, or community support services.

Responsibilities

• Assist with oversight and administration of CSS programs.
• Supervise, support, and mentor case managers and community-based staff.
• Conduct rehabilitation assessments and assist with service planning.
• Promote community integration, psychiatric rehabilitation, and recovery-focused care.
• Provide field supervision, staff coaching, and clinical support.
• Respond to crises and assist with intervention and stabilization efforts.
• Ensure compliance with agency policies, DMHAS standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor documentation quality, service delivery expectations, and program outcomes.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities and leadership coverage as needed.

Cumberland County Guidance Center is seeking a Full-Time Community Support Services (CSS) Assistant Director to join our leadership team in Millville, New Jersey.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Clinical Supervisor, Behavioral Health Manager, or Community Mental Health Leader who is passionate about staff development, community-based services, recovery-oriented care, and improving outcomes for individuals receiving behavioral health treatment.

What You'll Do

As the Community Support Services Assistant Director, you'll support the administration and day-to-day operations of community-based behavioral health services while helping individuals receive effective, recovery-oriented support.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with oversight and administration of Community Support Services (CSS) programs
• Supervise, support, and mentor case managers and community-based behavioral health staff
• Conduct rehabilitation assessments and assist with service planning activities
• Promote community integration, psychiatric rehabilitation, and recovery-focused care
• Provide field supervision, staff coaching, and clinical support
• Respond to crises and assist with intervention and stabilization efforts as needed
• Ensure compliance with agency policies, DMHAS standards, and regulatory requirements
• Monitor documentation quality, service delivery expectations, and program outcomes
• Participate in on-call responsibilities and leadership coverage as needed

Required Qualifications

Education & Licensure

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related Human Services field
• Active New Jersey License:
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW)

Experience

• Minimum one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience
• Minimum two (2) years of behavioral health, mental health, community support services, or case management experience
• Knowledge of community resources, rehabilitation services, behavioral healthcare systems, and social service supports
• Valid New Jersey driver's license with acceptable driving history

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work a flexible 40-hour schedule
• Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities
• Ability to provide field-based supervision and community support as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Spanish-English bilingual skills
• Experience in Community Support Services (CSS) programs
• Experience with case management, psychiatric rehabilitation, or community-based behavioral health services
• Experience conducting clinical supervision or staff coaching
• Experience with quality improvement, compliance monitoring, and program development
• Knowledge of DMHAS regulations and community mental health services
