Job summary

Applied Counseling Consulting Services (ACCS) is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for community-based support in Bellfonte, PA. This part-time role runs Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11a to 4p, providing essential daily living support and skill-building in the community.

You will work with individuals with Autism and IDD, collaborating with clinical staff to promote independence, autonomy, and meaningful community engagement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass background checks; FBI background check may be required for relocations outside PA or moves within last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support tailored to each individual’s needs and goals.
• Assist with activities of daily living (e.g., personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders).
• Support individuals in developing life skills, social skills, and community participation.
• Implement individualized support plans and behavior support strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all individuals served.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families.
• Respond promptly and professionally to changing needs or situations.
