Job summary

Ozark Action, Inc. in Gainesville, MO seeks a Community Services Representative at the Gainesville Outreach Office to empower qualifying customers through intake, assessment, and referrals to meet needs.

Position pays $17.00 per hour as a minimum, full-time with benefits within 90 days, schedule Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 36 hours weekly. Posting expires 12/3/2026.

Responsibilities

• Complete individual/household assessment on all customers; process LIHEAP applications.
• Assist customers with LIHEAP services for emergency heating/cooling costs.
• Support families toward self-sufficiency through Family Support; assist elderly/disabled customers with CLAIM.
• Assist customers with state and federal income tax preparation; MO state property tax/rent rebate preparation.
• Provides services and/or referrals for unmet needs; determine outcome of referrals made during program year.
• Increase OAI corporate capacity and effectiveness; security of facilities; completes other duties as assigned.
• Team player; promote agency programs; develop professional and technical knowledge.

Objectives

Empower qualifying customers to achieve individual/family stability by conducting comprehensive intake, assessment, and referrals to provide services necessary to meet needs.

Education and Experience

High School diploma, HiSET, or verifiable related experience.

Specific Responsibilities

• Complete individual/household assessment on all customers; process Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) applications.
• Assist customers with Energy Crisis Intervention Program (LIHEAP) services for assistance with their emergency crisis heating/cooling costs.
• Aids families towards higher levels of self-sufficiency through Family Support; Assist elderly/disabled customers with Community Leaders Assisting the Insured of MO (CLAIM).
• Assist customers with state and federal income tax preparation; MO state property tax/rent rebate preparation.
• Provides services and/or referrals for unmet needs; determine outcome of referrals made during program year.
• Increase OAI corporate capacity and effectiveness; security of facilities; completes other duties as assigned.
• Team player; promote agency programs; develop professional and technical knowledge.
