Job summary

Ozark Opportunities Inc in Mountain Home, AR is seeking a Community Services Lead to support stabilization and development programs for residents with limited means.   • Assists with training and mentoring of staff on procedures and interview techniques.
  • Reviews program paperwork and provides final approval.
  • Enters data into record-keeping systems and generates required correspondences.
  • Answers phones, greets visitors, and provides information on services.
  • Submits weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to supervisor.
  • Keeps current on local resources and programs in the area.
  • Attends meetings, trainings, and conferences to enhance expertise.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Community Services Lead assists in activities and programs that support the Ozark Opportunities, Inc mission to assist those with limited means to improve their quality of life through stabilization services and development opportunities. Programs may include but are not limited to: Community Service Block Grant activities, Home Energy Assistance Program, Stabilization activities, Housing, and more as appropriated.

  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of Ozark Opportunities, Inc’s and the various programs’ procedures and processes, staying abreast of rules, regulations, and eligibility requirements for programs, and ensuring that all are set forth and carried out accurately.
  • Creates a welcoming, safe environment for clients while maintain a professional working relationship with co-workers, funders, energy vendors, businesses, landlords, other service organizations, etc.; maintains confidentiality of clients’ information.
  • Assists with organizing and participates in outreach activities (Pop-Ups, etc.) through planning, coordinating staff, attending events, participating in enrollment services, completing site visits, developing materials, and cultivating relationships with existing and new partners.
  • Assists with training and mentoring of staff through group and individual trainings to include LIHEAP and supplemental programs focusing on procedures, policies, interview techniques, problem solving and when flexibility is allowed within these areas.
  • Reviews program specific paperwork such as program applications; confirms accuracy of information, reaching out to clients, vendors and program staff as needed; provides final approval.
  • Enters data into computerized record keeping systems in a timely and accurate manner; generates required correspondences; maintains systems, files, and records that provide for the proper evaluation and documentation of assigned services.
  • Answers phones, greets visitors, and makes appointments. Provides information to the public regarding available assistance services and programs.
  • Submits weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to supervisor and/or designee.
  • Remains current on other agencies, community resources, service organizations, and programs available in the area.
  • Attends meetings, training, seminars, and conferences as needed/required to enhance expertise and professionalism in agency activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:

An Associate’s degree is preferred. A high school diploma/GED and two (2) years of relevant, progressive experience in a similar role is required; equivalent expertise gained through military service or technical certifications is also welcomed. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, complemented by exceptional communication and organizational abilities. Proficiency in data management, computer systems, and office equipment is essential, as is a functional knowledge of community resources and the ability to remain adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Conditions of Employment:

A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Must pass a criminal records check through the Arkansas state police, state and national sex offender checks, and complete a yearly motor vehicle records check.

Physical Requirements:

Long periods of sitting, reading, and keyboarding. Occasional bending, lifting (able to lift up to 50lbs.), and moving of general office equipment, furniture, and project materials. Frequent driving within the 6-county service area with occasional out-of-area functions/training.
