Job summary

The Salvation Army in New Jersey is seeking a Human Services Coordinator to represent the organization in the community, identify resources, and coordinate services. The role oversees case management, volunteers, and staff, and partners with local organizations to deliver programs with dignity and impact.

You will lead outreach initiatives, supervise staff and volunteers, and ensure services align with the mission while maintaining accurate records and reporting.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Social Work (or 2-year degree with experience).
• Master’s degree in social work preferred.
• Two-year experience in the field.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Forms).
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Professional demeanor, organized, quick learner, good communication and computer skills.
• Knowledgeable of Mercer County and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Represent The Salvation Army at countywide meetings/events to identify resources and referrals.
• Organize staff meetings and volunteer groups for corps programs or special events.
• Oversee case management, programs/services, and other human services operations at the Corps Center.
• Coordinate outreach, build partnerships with local organizations for referrals and events.
• Maintain records and supervise volunteers and staff; ensure confidentiality and data accuracy.
• Monitor workflows, develop procedures, and generate monthly statistics.

Education

4-year degree in Social Work (or 2-year degree with experience)

Master’s degree in social work (preferred)
