Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a candidate to support community services and ensure access to care across City agencies. The role includes interpreter support at service centers and assisting clients with forms and appointments.

Qualifications

• The ability to understand and carry out simple instructions.
• In some cases the ability to speak Spanish may be required.
• There are no formal education requirements for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing community services by performing liaison functions between the agency and the individuals it serves.
• Serves as interpreter at service centers. Helps clients fill out and submit forms.
• Visits elderly persons in their homes or in institutions. Visits children who have no relatives and are confined to public or private institutions.
• Receives apprenticeship training in the auxiliary work relative to the various manpower and community development programs of the Human Resources Administration and its constituent agencies.
• Works with community groups in community health programs, such as the elimination of areas of infestation, and other pest control activities.
