1. Three (3) years of full‑time experience in counseling, community work or community health activities in a government agency or community organization engaged in providing community services to the public, assisting members of the community in obtaining community services or maintaining liaison with schools, community organizations or other government agencies for the purpose of providing assistance and obtaining participation and support for implementation of community or public service programs; or
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to (1) above. Completion of an approved six (6) month training program of combined classroom training and on‑the‑job experience in community liaison work may be substituted for six (6) months of experience. Study at an accredited college in sociology, psychology or other behavioral science may be substituted on the basis of thirty (30) semester credits for each year of the experience described above. However, all persons must have at least one (1) year of the full‑time experience described above.
Note: Preference will be given to applicants with at least a high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization.
Purpose of Position: This class of positions encompasses work of varying degrees of difficulty and responsibility in the performance of liaison functions between City agencies, local residents, and community organizations, in order to provide assistance, obtain participation and support for housing development and community development and implement public service programs. Performs tasks in the field or in an office, as assigned. Supervises staff. All personnel perform related work.
Under general supervision, performs duties involving liaison activities between City agencies, local residents, and community organizations.

In addition to performing duties of Assignment Level I at a higher level, as described above, the following tasks are performed:
