Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Coordinator to develop and oversee service programs within the Red Bluff area. This role will manage social service assistance, coordinate events, recruit and supervise volunteers, and work with the Field Representative to secure funding through grants and local campaigns.

Responsibilities include client interviews, community collaborations, donor relations, and public outreach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must have a valid California Class C driver license.
• Must complete Salvation Army vehicle training.
• Must be 21 years of age or older to drive a Salvation Army vehicle.
• Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) consent required.
• Minimum two years Secretary/Administrative Assistant experience preferred.
• Minimum one year social service experience preferred.
• Professional and confidential work demeanor.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook and TEAMS.
• Possess and maintain current driver license and vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Represent The Salvation Army within the faith-based community.
• Provide referrals to other faith-based resources as needed.
• Produce and process office correspondence (letters, emails, mailings).
• Maintain and inventory equipment and supplies.
• Keep accurate records and ensure reporting follows policy.
• Answer telephone calls and assist with information and appointments.
• Maintain a clean, safe office and storeroom environment.
• Interview and assist clients within program guidelines; maintain records.
• Collaborate with community agencies to provide referrals; avoid duplication of services.
• Develop and participate in seasonal distributions (food, toys, back-to-school, summer camp).
• Recruit, train and manage volunteers; maintain Advisory Board.
• Support fundraising activities and organize kettle campaigns.
• Promote programs via media; respond to public inquiries.
• Travel for meetings and events; perform other duties as needed.
