Job summary

Metropolitan Family Services in Chicago seeks a Community Schools Coordinator for the Southeast office to lead after-school and family services, supervise staff and volunteers, and foster a restorative, culturally competent program aligned with our mission.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years in program development or management (or a HS diploma with 6+ years); bilingual ability may be required; flexible schedule; strong Microsoft Office skills; and the ability to collaborate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in program development or management and working with children in educational or social services.
• HS Diploma or GED with 6+ years in program development or management and working with children in educational, activity, or social service programs.
• 1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English may be required depending on location.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings and some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Community School staff and volunteers; develops trainings; participates in hiring and termination of staff.
• Develops and implements a comprehensive training program.
• Manages all components of the Community School including after-school programs, adult services, family activities, recruitment, retention, and community development.
• Addresses behavior using restorative approaches; conducts needs assessments to tailor services to school and community.
• Organizes advisory board meetings and collaborates to meet funder deliverables and standards.
• Ensures site-based reporting, program evaluation, record-keeping, and data analysis to support recruitment and retention.
