Job summary

The Community School Director at PS 165M leads Young Audiences New York’s school-based initiatives, partnering with the principal and school leadership to deliver arts education, PYD programming, and family engagement that improve student outcomes.

This role supervises a Program Coordinator and collaborates with families, educators, and partners to align programming with CEP, SEL goals, and school priorities, driving meaningful results for students and the broader community.

Qualifications

• Experience leading after-school or community-based programs in schools.
• Strong ability to build partnerships with school leadership, families, and partners.
• Experience with PYD practices and arts education is a plus.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead YANY's presence at PS 165M and align with school priorities.
• Build partnerships with principal, school administration, and educators.
• Oversee after-school programming, enrichment activities, and PYD initiatives.
• Directly supervise the Program Coordinator and support staff.
• Report to Director of Programs and participate in SLT and Attendance Team.
