Job summary

The City of Rio Vista is seeking a Community Services Officer (CSO) in the Police Department. This entry-level, non-sworn role supports public safety through outreach, event support, and administrative tasks while gaining hands-on police experience.

CSOs assist with community outreach, social media communications, traffic and parking control, code enforcement, and patrol support in a dynamic, public-facing environment. A 9/80 schedule with occasional overtime covers regular business hours.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check including a Voice Stress Analysis (VSA) test.
• Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs, work in inclement weather and hazardous conditions.
• 9/80 work schedule with possible overtime for special events.

Responsibilities

• Assist in community outreach and social media communications.
• Support non-enforcement patrol activities and traffic control.
• Assist with parking and code enforcement tasks.
• Process forensic evidence as directed.
