Job summary

The Carver County Sheriff's Office is seeking a full-time Community Service Officer (CSO) to provide support services across divisions in a non-sworn capacity. The role requires flexible schedules, including weekends, and work in varying climatic conditions within contract communities.

Successful candidates will meet minimum education requirements and complete the selection process including interviews, background checks, psychological evaluation, and pre-placement physical.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus two years of related work experience.
• Associates degree plus one year related work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in any field of study.

Responsibilities

• Enforce local ordinances of the contracting communities relating to animals.
• Respond and handle non-emergency public safety calls for service that do not require a licensed peace officer.
• Proactively engage with community members through patrol, public interactions, and educational events to promote public safety.
• Act as a liaison with contract community leaders and city/township contracted kennels.
• May assist in scheduling CSOs into contract communities to fulfill the contractual obligations.
• Educate and enforce County ordinances through patrol activities of County parks and regional trails.
• Other duties as assigned.
