Job summary

United Way of Salt Lake is seeking a Service Navigator to support 211 Utah clients through calls, email, and in-person interactions. You will assess needs, enter data into the client database, and collaborate with community partners to connect individuals with essential resources.

The role emphasizes equity, results, and continuous improvement, with regular office hours and a hybrid Friday remote shift as part of Utah’s Promise initiative.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years’ experience serving clients in obtaining services or two years post-secondary education in social work or related field.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic calendaring.
• Ability to use telephone, text messaging, and other communication platforms.

Responsibilities

• Navigate clients to essential resources using telephony, text, chat, and other formats.
• Apply problem solving to overcome barriers in crises.
• Follow up to confirm services were accessed and needs met.
• Provide empathy in high-risk situations and crises.
• Maintain data accuracy and confidentiality in the client database.
• Build partnerships with service providers and community leaders.
• Attend outreach events and coordinate with 211 Utah stakeholders.
