Job summary

Akin Family Resource Center in Kent, WA is seeking a Family Resource Specialist to welcome clients and connect families with resources and programs. This role supports daily operations and may involve data entry, inventory, and routine clerical tasks at the center.

The position requires strong communication and reliability, with comfort using Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and internal data systems. Some evening and weekend work may be required to support events and services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 1–2 years in social or human services or related experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a favorable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm and welcoming environment for all community members who walk in or call.
• Assist participants in accessing concrete goods in the resource room.
• Provide information about Akin programs and external resources.
• Refer participants to Family Navigation for secondary prevention and/or family development activities.
• Refer participants to other Akin programs available by site.
• Refer participants to external resources as needed/appropriate.
• Enter data about participant visits, resource room inventory, and other data needs as assigned.
• Light clerical work to support the operations of the Akin Family Resource Center.
