Overview

The Community Relations Manager, Stockton Region is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive brand awareness campaign and community engagement strategy for Touro University California in the Stockton area. This role focuses on building strong relationships with community stakeholders, enhancing the presence and overall brand of the University, including its presence through the Touro University Medical Group (TUMG), and promoting community service programs aligned with institutional goals. The position requires strategic planning, collaboration, and representation of the organization at various community events and meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a brand awareness campaign in the Stockton area.
  • Develop and establish outreach, engagement, and community relation initiatives to promote community service programs that align with the goals of Touro University California.
  • Determine the most strategic events for Touro University California's objectives and goals.
  • Develop alliances that enhance the presence and overall brand of Touro University California in the community.
  • Develop an annual community outreach plan that includes numerous initiatives and programs that grow the Touro University California's involvement in the broader community.
  • Collaborate with external communities and stakeholders to identify strategic community partners.
  • Initiate, build and enhance relationships to increase competitiveness, leverage existing resources and create new resources.
  • Direct community engagement efforts, including strategy development and implementation, at the direction of the TUC CEO & Campus Provost and TUC Vice President of Advancement. Represents Touro University California with internal and external audiences as well as interfaces efforts toward public outreach and engagement.
  • Assesses community needs, defines opportunities and develops relationship-building strategies and plans for implementation of new collaborative community-based programs, partnerships and other engagement initiatives to maximize regional community resources.
  • Connect Touro University California programs, research and major initiatives with corporate, non-profit, government and education stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain tracking and monitoring mechanisms for internal and external evaluation of community engagement initiatives. Build and maintain a partnership knowledge base that documents ongoing partnership projects, success measures and overall impact.
  • Represent Touro University California at community meetings, boards and events.
  • Develop SMART goals in consultation with TUC CEO and Campus Provost and TUC Vice President of Advancement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related fields, such as public relations and communications; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience of progressively responsible, professional experience in community and public relations or related experience, including two years of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare and higher education sectors is preferred.
  • Strong writing skills for creating press releases, newsletters, social media content and other outreach material.
