Xcel Energy invites highly motivated students to join the Community Relations team as an intern in Minnesota. You will assist with updating government contact databases, coordinating meetings and outreach events, and researching local government initiatives relevant to Company operations.

The role requires travel across Minnesota, a hybrid work setup, and full-time availability during the summer. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, or related fields.
• Willingness to travel across Minnesota.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week).

Responsibilities

• Assist updating and maintaining government contact databases.
• Coordinate meetings, community outreach events, and stakeholder engagements.
• Research municipalities, economic development opportunities, and policy trends impacting Company operations.
• Prepare briefing materials, presentations, agendas, and stakeholder profiles.
