The City of Springfield Public Library invites a Reference Librarian to provide reference and instructional services to the public and branches, monitor periodicals, assist with web maintenance, and develop bibliographic aids. This role reports to the Branch Manager.

You will participate in system-wide training, plan programs for students and diverse audiences, and engage in special projects to enhance public access to information. A MLS is required along with 2+ years of library experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus MLS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Minimum two years of library experience.

Responsabilités

• Provide reference and instructional services to the public and branches.
• Assist with web maintenance and bibliographic aids.
• Plan and implement bibliographic instruction and programs for students and the public.
• Participate in outreach, books by mail, reader advisory products, and related activities.
• Maintain statistics and perform routine tasks including payments and daily cash handling.
