Once joining the on-call librarian pool, you will be contacted when we have a need and you can accept or decline the shift as your availability allows. We may have slots in the Children's Room, the Adult Services area of the Library, the Teen section, or a generalist area, where you would help any patron coming in or contacting any of our eight branches or our Central Library. Assignments may be for 4 to 8 hours a day, filling in for staff vacancies or vacation, professional development, or sick leave. However, there are no guaranteed hours. There is no residency requirement for this position. This position is continuously posted, so there is no closing date. Qualifications are a Bachelor's degree and completion of an American Library Association accredited Master of Library Science required.
