Job summary

Springfield Technical Community College is seeking a Part-Time Reference & Instruction Librarian to provide excellent public service at the Reference Desk and to teach bibliographic instruction classes. The role includes developing library guides and instructional materials and collaborating with faculty. The position is 18.5 hours per week at $36.55 per hour.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science or closely related field.
• Three years experience and/or training in library operations, reference services, bibliographic instruction, circulation and cataloging.
• Familiarity with MLA, APA, and AMA citation styles.
• Ability to incorporate emerging technologies into the research process.
• Strong team communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Office and Google products.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent public service at the Reference Desk.
• Teach bibliographic instruction classes.
• Develop library subject guides and instructional materials for print and web.
• Maintain and report accurate statistics for reference services.
• Collaborate with the Instructional Services Librarian and faculty.
• Assist in planning, implementing and publicizing reference services.
• Work in a team environment; support a strong service orientation.
• Other duties as assigned.
