Job summary

The City of Elizabeth City is seeking a recreation supervisor to plan, coordinate, and oversee a wide range of community programs, day camps, after school activities, and special events. You will work with staff and volunteers, manage instructors, and ensure safe, quality programming aligned with department goals.

Reporting to the Superintendent of Recreation, you will develop schedules, monitor program needs, promote activities on social media, and assist with budgeting and funding strategies

Qualifications

• Associate degree required in leisure science or physical education.
• At least two years of experience in directing recreation programs.
• Ability to manage budgets and resources.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and promotes recreation activities for various age groups; staff scheduling and staffing.
• Monitors and evaluates programs; identifies enhancements and equipment needs.
• Coordinates program design, class structure, sites, participant numbers, and instructor hires.
