Job summary

The City of San Leandro’s Recreation and Parks Department is seeking a part-time Facility Attendant as Recreation Specialist I to prepare and maintain public facilities for events and activities. You will ensure spaces are welcoming, safe, and ready, taking initiative and making decisions to deliver exceptional service.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in municipal recreation programs, with the ability to work 5–40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in municipal recreation programs is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety, health and welfare of participants and supervise facility sites.
• Follow safety rules and report hazards to supervisor.
• Assist with disaster response duties per city plan.
• Janitorial tasks and duties in facilities.
• Coordinate facility repair requests and maintenance.
• Monitor usage of spaces by renters and providers.
• Prepare documentation for activities and departmental requirements.
• Provide customer service and information to participants and community partners.
