Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a Recreation Program Supervisor to plan, promote, staff, implement, and evaluate a variety of community events and programs at an assigned facility.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or a related field with three years of related experience and supervisory background. This role emphasizes partnerships, policy development, and effective budget management within a county context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation or related field, plus three (3) years of related experience.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies the need and feasibility for a wide variety of recreation, sports, and leisure-time programs.
• Maintains fixed and controlled assets. Coordinates maintenance and repairs for assigned facility.
• Supervises staff to include hiring, orienting, training, assigning and reviewing work performance, annual work performance appraisals, and discipline. Formulates and prepares annual program action plans.
• Creates partnerships and coordinates with other organizations and agencies to utilize joint programming opportunities.
• Establishes and implements recreation, leisure-time, and sports program standards, policies, and procedures.
• Provides leadership in managing, supervising, and coordinating the use of County and assigned non-County facilities and grounds.
• Manages and reviews all cash handling, billing, collections functions, and assigned line item budget.
• Represents the Section in the community by attending community meetings.
