Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department in Charlotte, NC seeks a Part-Time Recreation Assistant to help manage facility rentals, assist with events, and support afterschool programs. The incumbent will handle customer service, setup/breakdown, light maintenance, and safety tasks at Naomi Drenan Recreation Center.

The role offers up to 19 hours per week, with evening and weekend flexibility. Prior experience is not required, and a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted for

Qualifications

• No experience required; HS diploma or equivalent accepted.
• Basic customer service skills and ability to handle inquiries.
• Ability to perform light maintenance tasks and safety duties.
• Familiarity with computer applications and program registrations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and handle patron inquiries for programs and rentals.
• Assist with facility rentals, event setup, and breakdown.
• Support afterschool programs and youth activities in the center.
• Monitor safety, enforce rules, and administer basic first aid if needed.
• Perform light maintenance and help with daily facility operations.
