Job summary

The Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT) within NYC Public Schools is seeking a Community Associate to support community services and development programs related to student transportation. The role collaborates with OPT staff and city agencies to roll out initiatives and improve communications.

Responsibilities include coordinating with community organizations, developing surveys to assess programs, and assisting with rollout of major changes tied to Mayor initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent with 3 years in community work or related activities.
• Two additional years of relevant work experience required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Provides community services related to OPT’s programs including safe transportation for NYC students.
• Coordinates functions among community organizations for rollout of programs benefiting NYC residents.
• Assists with development of surveys to assess programs and plans.
• Supports rollout of major changes to school processes and mayoral initiatives.
• Provides training and liaison functions to improve communication between City agencies and communities.
• Collaborates with OPT staff and management to ensure successful outcomes.
