The Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT) within NYC Public Schools is seeking a Community Associate to support community services and development programs related to student transportation. The role collaborates with OPT staff and city agencies to roll out initiatives and improve communications.
Responsibilities include coordinating with community organizations, developing surveys to assess programs, and assisting with rollout of major changes tied to Mayor initiatives.
Position Summary: The Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT) is dedicated to providing the students of New York City with safe, clean transportation. OPT is charged with administering all operational and administrative functions throughout the office. With an overall budget of $1.19 billion, OPT provides the students at New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) with safe, reliable, clean transportation.
The Community Associate, OPT will perform responsible work within community programs in OPT. The selected candidate will perform necessary and important community services and community development programs within the Office of Pupil Transportation. Performs related work.
Reports to: Executive Director
Direct Reports: N/A
Key Relationships: Relationships will be fostered with OPT staff, and with interested stakeholders regarding Mayoral Initiatives both within NYCPS and within other New York City agencies.
In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, individuals must have two additional years of relevant work experience.
Salary: $51,094 - $56,203
(Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
