Job summary

Horizon Education Centers seeks a Community Support Specialist to join our Administration Headquarters team in North Olmsted, OH. This part-time, in-office role supports the RSG and SSP collaboratives, helping promote literacy and family programs in local communities.

You will monitor social media, assist with events and communications, and help coordinate playgroups for children aged 2–5, while collaborating with partners to deliver essential community services.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel between Lorain and Cuyahahoga Counties with reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of child development and planning age-appropriate activities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and post on blogs and social media for the RSG and SSP collaboratives.
• Assist with outreach and promotion through social media and community events.
• Create flyers for programs and events.
• Participate in monthly Steering Committee meetings for SSP and RSG and take minutes.
• Create monthly newsletters for the RSG collaborative.
• Plan, promote, and deliver monthly playgroups for children ages 2–5.
• Plan and assemble Kinder Kits for monthly delivery.
• Assist with monthly data collection for collaborative reports.
• Ensure Pioneer Freedge is stocked and cleaned weekly; assist with food deliveries from local partners.
